People you may know! grrr facebook I hate you!
By James Hill at 23 Apr 00:05
All my hard work culling people from my facebook friends list has now been unraveled in one swift foul move from the facebook gods.
Most of you probably have noticed by now that facebook introduced a feature sometime last week allowing you to see all the friends you probably should have on your friend list. Only that it's algorithm probably works simply by ranking clusters of mutual friends.
An example would be I have 30 friends who all know this one person that's not on my friends list, and surely if 30 of my friends know this one person I should know this person, and therefore I should be friends with this person and thus I should add him/her as a friend. Well In theory this should work if everyone had the same stringent (anal) friend adding rules that I have, but alas no they don't!
My problem now is that some 150 culled "friends" are going to wake up to the realization that they have just been fed 10801, only that the dosage wasn't lethal enough and no doubt they (some already have) will just friend request me again...
On an up note, facebook have just added a feature whereby you can ignore every future application request and invite from that one (douchbag friend that can't help themselves but spread spam to everyone) person! Brilliant!
